Nancy Elizabeth Dickson was the daughter of John W. Dickson and his first wife Drucilla Catherine Weaver. She was listed with them on the 1870 Georgia Census, Hall Co., Bark Camp and the 1880 Arkansas Census, Clark Co., Amity. In 1910, Nancy and her husband William M. Howell were on the 1910 Arkansas Census, Clark Co., Alpine. Nancy's widowed father was living in the household and listed as John W. Dickson, age 75.
The headstone for Nancy in Alpine Cemetery in Clark County, Arkansas shows her name as "Nancy E. Dickerson wife of W. M. Howell". This is clearly erroneous regarding Nancy's maiden name which was "Dickson". Her marriage record also shows the correct spelling of her name as "Nancy Dickson". Some of Nancy's siblings did change the spelling of the last name to "Dixon". The California Death Records Index for Nancy's daughter, Addie, also shows that Nancy's maiden name was "Dickson".
The headstone for Nancy shows her date of death as January 18, 1949. Her obituary also confirms this date. However, the Arkansas Death Records Index incorrectly shows that Nancy E. Howell died on January 19, 1949 in Hempstead Co., Arkansas.
