She was born February 12, 1918 to George T. and Charlotte Barnes Park. She worked thirteen years making ninety pies daily in the Salt Lake Temple cafeteria.
She married and later divorced Eamer E. Drake in 1950. She married Von R. Anderson in 1957. Their marriage was sealed by proxy in 1964.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother George H. Park, and sisters: Amy Park, Charlotte Reynolds, Ora Rimington, and Bessie Park. She is survived by children: Kenneth G. Anderson, Larry E. Drake, Sharon K. Drake, and Dennis R. Drake, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and sister Shirley Reich.
Ruth was a gentle, loving, woman with a big heart and a wonderful sense of humor. Many people remember her graciousness and love of laughter. She would frequently send people on their way with the warning, "don't take any wooden nickels."
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Lake Hills Memorial Mortuary, 10055 South State Street (100 East) Sandy, Utah. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services.
Interment will follow at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy, Utah.
