Edward "Ed" Galloway, age 94, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away on March 26, 2007.
Edward was born on March 8, 1913, to Benjamin L. and Marion Whiteman Galloway in Weir, Nebraska. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He married Minnie Jackson, August 7, 1934, in Torrey, Utah and was blessed to have been married to her for 69 years, until her death in 2003. Ed and Minnie had three wonderful children, Dawna, Ronald and Lenna. Ed moved his family to Milford, Utah in 1951, where he worked for the Union Pacific Railroad as a machinist. In 1968, he transferred to Salt Lake City where he worked with his son, Ronald, on the railroad until he retired in 1974. Ed thoroughly enjoyed his retirement. He liked to spend time with his friends and family and was very proud to be the head of five generations. He also enjoyed mining, rock hounding, reading, working on his computer, old cars, watching the Jazz, "coffeeing-up" with friends, doing a little gardening or just picking on his guitar and singing a tune. We will miss him very much. Ed is survived by his daughter, Dawna Ruesch; daughter-in-law Mauri Galloway; grandchildren, Vicki, Chad, Terri and Mark Ruesch; Julie, Layne, Rob, Dave, and Ryan Galloway; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Ruby Bounds. Preceded in death by his wife, Minnie; son, Ronald; daughter, Lenna; great-granddaughter; Lydia Farooq; five brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Friday, March 30th, at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, where a viewing will be held from 11:00-11:45 a.m. before the services.
