WILLIAM R. PANGBORN
Funeral services for William Randolph Pangborn, a native of Marion county, were held Wednesday afternoon at the Oakdale Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. H. E. Burton, of Shelbyville, the pastor. Mr. Pangborn died in the family home Monday morning, where he had been bedfast for a number of years. Four years ago he suffered a broken leg and two years ago he was stricken with paralysis. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Pangborn was born east of Emden, in Marion county, on July 30, 1868. He was 78 years old. He was the son of Freeman and Ella Allison Pangborn. Having lost his parents when a small boy, he was reared in the home of an uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Allison, of near Emden. His marriage to Miss Laura Wagner took place July 31, 1892. He had spent most of his life at farming, retiring when ill health set in.
Surviving are his widow, a son, Lloyd Pangborn, of near Monroe City, and a daughter, Mrs. Oneita Lyell, of Shelbyville, four grandchildren, two half-sisters and two half-brothers.
