Laura Jane Booher Hamman was my grandfather's first wife. She was born on February 12, 1898. She was the daughter of Bower R. and Elizabeth B. Clark Booher. On June 1, 1917, she married my grandfather, Earl G. Hamman. They had four children: Arthur "Sonny", Margaret, Cora and Estall "Paul". She passed away at the Huntingdon Hospital on Friday, September 29, 1922 from typhoid fever. Her youngest child, Paul, was less than two months old when she passed away.

Laura is buried in the same plot with her daughter Margaret. She has a small stone that just says Mother.
