E. Paul Hamman, 87, of Saxton, died February 20, 2010, at his home. He was born on July 24, 1922 in Three Springs, PA. He was the son of the late Earl and Laura (Booher) Hamman. On September 27, 1944 in Clarksville, Tennessee he married the former Betty (Ebersole). He was a member of the Saxton Brethren In Christ Church, where he served as deacon and superintendent for many years. E. Paul Hamman served in the United States Army 48th armored battalion for 39 months and fought in World War II under General Patton. He was owner and operator of Ebersole & Hamman, Saxton for forty-one years. He later served as Maintenance Superintendent for the Bedford County Housing Authority at their three locations in Saxton. He was a member of the Saxton Borough Council for 34 years. He also served several terms as mayor. Paul was a pillar of the community and everyone that knew him said that he was honest and a good Christian man.
