Dencle M. Jenkins, 88 of Walker, WV died Saturday at the Worthington Manor Nursing Home. He was born at Eaton, WV on March 11, 1920 and was the son of the late Samuel J. and Rosetta Mary Hyde Jenkins. He was a member of the 19th St. Church of God, worked for the U.S. Tile Plant, Corning Glass and at Montgomery Wards. He was a ham radio operator since 1953 having the call W8NKQ.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Mabel Hildreth Jenkins, a son, Robert Lee Jenkins of Walker and a daughter, Loretta Ann (Ira) Winans of Davisville, WV, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 infant sons, and a son Larry and a grandson and brothers and sisters.

Services will be at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg on Wednesday at 1:00 PM with burial in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery at Walker, WV.
