T. O. MEAD PASSED ON
Funeral services of T. O. Mead who passed away at 1 o'clock Monday morning at the home of the daughter, Mrs. Glenn Matthews, at Hume, were held Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist church in Metz, conducted by the pastor, Rev. E. C. Grimes. Burial was at Nevada. Deceased was born in Saline county, this state, November 10, 1852. In 1884 he was married to Miss Margaret Cowil who died in 1886. One daughter, Mrs. Margaret Cameron, of Kansas City survives by this marriage. On February 3, 1891 he was united in marriage to Miss Elizabeth Simpson who preceded him in death February 17, 1929. Four children were born to this union, three of whom survive; Mrs. Glen Matthews of Hume, Martie C. of Richmond and Thomas Stieth of Slater. Three grandchildren also survive. One daughter, Jessie, died December 2, 1923. Mr. Mead formerly resided west of Metz and was a well known and highly respected gentleman. The pallbearers were E. C. Robinson of Hume, O. D. Robinson, Orville McVey, Irl Hudson, John Baird and Henry Ransom. A double quartet from the Metz High School furnished music.
