D. PAUL ABBOTT An inurnment service will be held for D. Paul Abbott on Saturday, September 30, 2006 at 10:00 o'clock at Hillandale Memorial Gardens, Lithonia, GA with Dr. Jim Martin officiating. This service is open to all Paul's friends and loved ones. Paul was born December 3, 1952 and was a native of Lithonia, GA. He graduated from Lithonia High School in 1970 where he was selected as the Best All Around, served as the Senior Class President, and played trumpet in the band. He earned a BBA from the University of Georgia in 1974 and remained an avid UGA football fan. During his professional career he was a premier custom interior carpenter, assistant director of collections and marketing representative for the Georgia Student Finance Commission, revenue officer for the Georgia Department of Revenue and manager for the First National Bank of DeKalb County. In addition to carpentry, Paul enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and vacationing on the coast and in the mountains. Paul is survived by his wife, Cindy Quarles Abbott; parents, Earlene and John Hubert Abbott; brother and sister-in-law, John T. and Gay Abbott; nieces, Keely and Woody Woodall and their children Pete and Kendall Woodall, Polly and David Thatcher and their son Luke Thatcher; and many, many wonderful friends. Paul was a loving husband, son, brother and friend. Since his death on January 26, 2005, Paul has been missed by all and will be loved forever. The family thanks all those who have given love and support through the difficult days. The arrangements were handled by Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia.
