Fred James Tate, 92, formerly of Country Side Park, 125 Zion School Road, died Feb. 12, 2004, at Greenville Nursing Center. A native of Greenville County, he was a son of the late William I. and Sunie Carlton Tate, was a member of Travelers Rest First Baptist Church, and was a
retired employee of Renfrew Bleachery. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are a sister, Jenette Lynn, of Taylors, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Wood Mortuary, conducted by the Rev. Michael Sheeham. Burial will be at Double Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
The families are at their respective homes.
Visitation will be from 3 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Wood Mortuary.
