James Walter Dooley married Elizabeth M Chaney in about 1900. They had four children:
Floyd S Dooley 1902-1990 died in Riverside, California
James Leo Dooley 1906-1981 died in Seneca, Missouri
Infant boy Dooley 1910-1910
Alta LaVon Dooley Lankford 1915-2001 died in Pendleton, Oregon
Elizabeth Chaney Dooley died in 1920.
James would then marry Edith Sylvia Roark, who's first husband was named Omer Martin Yocum. (1889-1919). (Sylvia and Omer Yocum had two children, Lois L Yocum born 1915 and Doris C. Roark Yocum 1917-1970). James Dooley and Edith Sylvia Roark Yocum had one child:
Reba Fern Dooley 1924-
After Edith died in 1927, James Walter married for the third and last time in about 1928 to Pearl Mae Crowder. Pearl had been married to Sherman Finley Yocum, marrying him in 1915. He died in 1932. Together, Sherman & Pearl adopted twin girls, Thelma May Yocum and Velma Fay Yocum who were born March 19 1927. Velma Fay would have died before 1930, as she no longer shows up in Federal Census records.
In 1940, Federal Census records show that James Walter Dooley and Pearl Mae Crowder Yocum Dooley were living in Glendale, California and it includes their "daughter," Thelma Mae Dooley age 12.
Note:
Omer Martin Yocum and Sherman Finley Yocum were brothers. Were the twin girls that Sherman Finley Yocum & Pearl Mae Crowder Yocum adopted related to the Yocums and Dooleys, biologically?
