She was the wife of Walter Potter and Richard Norwood. Her parents were David Bancroft and Susannah Sumner Fackrell.


Born in Mt. Carmel, Kane Co., Utah, the youngest daughter of David Bancroft Fackrell and Susannah Sumner Fackrell. Her early life was spent in Orderville, Utah where her family were members of the United Order community. At the age of 15, Olive married Walter Porter and moved with him and his family to Mexico. No children were born to this union. After 16 months, she returned to Orderville to her parents' home, and was divorced from Porter. She married Richard Norwood on 1 Dec 1893 in St. George, Utah. When the United Order was dissolved, Olive and Richard decided to move to southern Idaho where they homesteaded along with other members of the Fackrell family. In 1917 they moved to Huntington, Utah in order to allow their children to attend high school. Following Richard's sudden death in 1925, she returned to Riverside, Idaho where she lived until her death in 1940. She was the mother of nine children.
