SEDALIA, Ky.--
Services for Orma Rebecca Lassiter Boyd, 103, of Sedalia will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield. The Revs. Tim Allred, Ray Provow and Charles Blair will officiate. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Boyd died at 10:15 a.m. Sunday at Heritage Manor Health Care Center in Mayfield.
A 1917 graduate of Sedalia High School, she was a published poet, author and historian. She was a member of Sedalia Baptist Church and was active in missions work.
Surviving are her daughter, Carolyn B. Herndon of Greenville, Ala.; seven grandchildren; one stepgranddaughter; 11 great-grandchildren; and 22 nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by her husband, Byron Presley Boyd Sr.; one son, Byron Presley Boyd Jr.; and two sisters. Her parents were C.C. and Cora Lassiter.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
