James E. Cloer of Junction City, died March 2 of age-related causes. He was 90. Cloer was born Aug. 24, 1913, to James and Maude Van Sandt Cloer. He lived in this area for 46 years and worked as a mechanic and as a cattle rancher. His interests included livestock ranching, hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Cowboy Church in Junction City. Survivors include his wife, Thelma; four sons, Jim Cloer Jr., of California, Gene Snyder of Philomath, Robert Cloer of Eugene and Ken Cloer of Junction City; three daughters, Ann Havelock of Crooked River, Anita McClure of Harrisburg, and Mary Roberts of Yakima, Wash.; a brother, Larry of Goleta, Calif.; a sister, Gene Bertolacci of Half Moon Bay, Calif.; 30 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren. Four daughters, Helen Denney, Lela Cloer, Betty Cloer and Nancy Kirby, and a son, Bill Cloer, died previously. Private inurnment at Rest Lawn Memorial Park in Junction City. Murphy-Musgrove Funeral Home in Junction City is in charge of arrangements.
