Mrs. Cloer was born March 7, 1915, in Bernie, Mo., to Jesse Howard and Retta Taylor Howard. She married James Cloer in 1938. He died March 2, 2004.
She had lived in Corvallis, Albany and Lakeview before moving to Junction City. Cloer cooked for various sororities and fraternities and at the juvenile justice center of Lane County when it was known as Skipworth.
She was a member of the Bethany Church of Franklin.
Survivors include four sons, Gene Snyder, of Philomath, Jim Cloer and Robert Cloer, both of Eugene, Ken Cloer of Junction City; two daughters, Ann Havelock of Crooked River Ranch,and Anita McClure of Harrisburg; a stepson, James Cloer of Tucson; a stepdaughter Mary Roberts of Yakima, Wash.; a sister, Mary Denney of Camas Valley; 18 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. Two daughters Lela and Betty Cloer; a son Bill Cloer; and two step-daughters Nancy Kirby and Helen Denney died previously.
Murphy-Musgrove Funeral Home in Junction City was in charge of arrangements.

Received information from Ryan Moore "Thelma Cloer is not actually interred at the cemetery. She was cremated and her ashes were distributed to her family and they were later spread."
