Benjamin, Montraville, Charles Moore, James Kent, George Lewelling, Marietta S., Albert, Ambrose, Enos Danio, John Rufus, Roena and Stephen Tanner were children born to
Benjamin Franklin COREY b: 6 Oct 1797 in Salem, Luzerne Co, PA d 22 Nov 1882 Crete Saline Co NE and Ruth TANNER b: 03 Feb 1802 in Steuben Co, NY d 15 Aug 1886 at her son Stephen NE home.
Benjamin was the son of Joseph and Prudence Parks Corey of Luzerne Co PA and Allegany Co NY. Ruth's father was John Tanner.
By 1850 Ambrose's family had removed from NW PA Crawford Co to Dodge Co WI. Benjamin's younger brother, Enos and his family made this move together.
1858 12 Dec Mayville Clark Co WI Ambrose married Maria Fidelia HENRY, daughter of William D. and Lucinda A. ______ Henry.
1861 Civil War WI enlisted with the 3rd Regiment, Wisconsin Infantry. Several of his brothers also served from Wisconsin during this war.
1869 January Ambrose and family,including their son, William Ambrose b 18 Jun 1860 WI, arrived in Phelps Co MO from Wisconsin with his in-laws. It would be interesting to know what brought them to MO. There is always a story, such as my own for moving here in 1988, hiding behind a tree.
Their children, Stephen Jared, Charles Henry, Roena and Benny were born in Phelps Co MO. Roena and Benny both died in their infancy, and are laid to rest beside their parents.
