Aronold retired from the City of Knightstown as town Marshall in 1979 after 22 years of service. He also served as the city's Town Manager for 10 years and received the 1968 Citizen of the Year Award from the Knightstown Chamber of Commerce. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Army. Arnold was a member of the Knightstown American Legion Post #152, the Whittier Lane Baptist Church of New Castle and attended the Bible Baptist Church in Crystal River, FL. He was a fantastic husband and father.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Gloria (Brown) Butler of Knightstown; two sons: Cliff (Lois) Butler and Chuck (Julie) Butler both of Knightstown; daughter, Ginny (Andy) Benz of Connersville; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; four sisters: Naomi Jackson, Charlene Jenson both of Knightstown, Leatha Redmon of Greenfield and Sheila Rawlins of Charlottesville; seven brothers: Carl, Johnny, Ray, Harold and Hayden all of Knightstown, Leon of Greenfield and Richard of Spiceland; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 4, 2001 at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Pastor Frank Wood officiating. Friends may call from 1-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2001 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.
