Robert Otis Belcher, 85, of Hampden Township, died Friday, March 26, 2004 at the Lebanon VA Medical Center.

Born February 15, 1919 in Southern Virginia, he was the tenth of twelve children born to the late Sidney W. and Mary P. Parcell Belcher and was preceded in death by all of his siblings.

He was employed in the laundry business for thirty years in Washington, DC and was a retired insurance agent for AFLAC.

Robert attended Christ Community Church; was past president of the Full Gospel Businessmen's Fellowship, Washington, DC Chapter.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

His son, Stephen E. Belcher died in 1969 while serving with the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 55 years, Marian J. Belcher; his loving children: Zoe A. Monserrate of Dillsburg, David J. of Wellfleet, Massachusetts, and Julie M. Belcher of Glenn Dale, Maryland; six grandchildren; and, two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday in his church, with Pastor Steve Boyer and Pastor Bob Klinger officiating. There will be a viewing from 06:00 - 08:00 PM Tuesday, at Malpezzi Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg and at the church from 09:30 - 10:30 AM on Wednesday.

Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
