Graveside services for Mary Margaret White, 88, of Lubbock, formerly of Texico, New Mexico will be at 11:00 a.m., CST Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Sunset Terrace Cemetery, Farwell, TX. Memorial services will follow at the First Baptist Church, Texico at 11:00 a.m. MST.

She was born in Curry County, NM on September 10, 1923 to William F. and Edna Martin. She died Wednesday, February 22, 2012, in Lubbock.

She married James Murray White October 10, 1942 in Clovis. She and her husband farmed north of Texico, NM. Later, she finished nursing school and worked as a nurse for fifteen years before retiring. Margaret was a talented seamstress and enjoyed needle work and painting.

Margaret loved her family, neighbors, friends and church; serving as a Sunday School teacher at First Baptist Church of Texico. Her grandchildren have the fondest memories of spending summers with Granny and Grandpa on the farm.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Murray, the love of her life, who died on November 23, 2011.

Survivors include daughters, Carol (Dwight) Turner of Canyon, Kathy (Jim) Devine of Grand Junction, CO and Susan (Doyle) Johnson of Lubbock; son, Martin (Terri) White of Amarillo; grandchildren, Kevin (Marsha) Turner of Spring, TX, Anna Devine of Denver, CO, Megan (Mark) Winnett of Lubbock, Jason Johnson of Lubbock, Stuart White of Amarillo and Marcus White of Canyon; great grandchildren, Paige, Regan and Macie Winnett and Aubrey and Presley Turner; numerous nieces and nephews.
