Martin Bowers, 89, of Clovis
will be held 'at 1:30 p.m. Saturday,
. Dec. 13, 1997 at Texico
Baptist Church. The Rev. Bob
Brown will officiate. Burial will
follow at Mission Garden of
Memories.

Mrs. Bowers died Dec. 11 at
Plains Medical/Clovis. She was
born Sept. 23, 1908, at Clovis in
NeW.Mexico Territory.
She was a lifelong resident of
Curry County. She married
Anson S. Bowers on Sept. 23,
1939, on the family farm south
of Clovis. She' first attended
school at Fairfield, where she
also began her teaching career
in 1931. She later taught seventh
and eighth grade at the
Center School for three years.
She Was a longtime member
of Texico Baptist Church and
the WMU there. . , '
Mis. Bowers is survived by a
daughter and son-in-law, Chris
and Jack Walters of Clovis;
three grandchildren, 'Monica
Walters of Dallas, -Shelby Walters
of Santa Cruz, Calif., and
Curtis Graham of Boise, Idaho;
two sisters, Bertha Snell of Clo-
, vis and Margaret and Murray
White of Texico; a sister-in-law,'
foster son, Kenneth Bowers of
South Lake Tahoe, Nev.
She was preceded in death by
her husband, Anson S. Bowers;
a son Jerry A. Bowers; a broth- ,
er, Wayne Martin; and a brother
and sister-in-law; Tom and,
Alice Martin. . .
Casket bearers will be Bob
.Martin, Wayne Martin, Richard
Snell, Martin White, Robert
Martin and C.L. Roach.
