Garcia -- Orlando Garcia, 80, died Friday, June 4, 1999. He was born in Los Candelarias on April 21, 1919.
Mr. Garcia is survived by a son, Conrad and was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Conrad's wife, Helen on February 4, 1999 and by his mother, Maria and father, Conrado in 1991.
Mr. Garcia is survived by his sister, Helen Garcia of Las Vegas, NV;
brothers, Robert and wife, Eva, and
Cecil and wife, Tina;
sister, Alice and husband, Frank;
a dear first cousin, Edwin Chavez and wife, Mercie, all of Albuquerque; and
several nieces and nephews.
He attended the University of New Mexico until he left to serve in the United States Army in New Guinea, Luzon.
Upon returning in 1946, he served as youngest Justice of the Peace for several years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 13, the VFW George O. Breece Post 401, and the North Valley Senior Center.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, June 14, 1999, at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, where the Mass will be celebrated at 5:30 p.m. Arrangements by the Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 3rd St. SW.
