Funeral services for B.G. “Pug” Turner, 85, of Rt. 3, Greenville, will be at 3:30 p.m. today at Coker-Mathews Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Richard Perry and the Rev. Richard Hoff officiating. Burial will be in East Mount Cemetery

Mr. Turner died Sunday in Citizens General Hospital.

He was born in Hunt County on Dec. 25, 1901, to John Kyle and Martha Fleenor Turner. He married Sallie Marie Cole on June 19, 1932, in Hugo, Okla. She preceded him in death on Jan. 3, 1972. He married Allyne Crockett on Nov. 16, 1974.

He was a farmer and a cotton broker, and he was a member of Floyd United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, of Greenville; three sons, Ray Turner of Dallas, Larry Turner of Richardson, and Kenneth Turner of Rockwall; two stepsons, James Crockett of Flower Mound and Richard Crockett of Eldon, Mo.; two sisters, Myrtle Bench of Greenville and Loretta Wiggins of Greenville; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Mr. Turner was also preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

Pallbearers will be Preston Shanks, Jerry Turner, Dennis Sturgeon, Ron Sistrunk, David Wessley and Bub Gilbert.

Coker-Mathews Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
