Myrtle T. Bench, 98, of Greenville died Tuesday at Pythian Nursing Home. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel. Burial is in Forest Park Cemetery.

She was born in Hunt County on July 20, 1899, to Kyle Turner and Martha Fleenor Turner. She and Rayford A. Bench were married in Hunt County. She was a member of Westview United Methodist Church.

Surviving are three daughters, Billie Summerlin of Greenville, Peggy Gilbert of Emerald Bay at Tyler and Glenda McDonald of Abernathy; a sister Loreta Wiggins of Greenville; five grandchildren, Sue Shanks of Greenville, Gaynelle Iglehart of Dallas, Kathy Gibbs of Austin, Charles Gilbert of Houston and Dr. Gene McDonald of Pasadena, Calif.; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 29, 1975; four brothers and one sister.

Pallbearers are Jerry Turner, Ray Turner, Larry Turner, Kenneth Turner, Charles Gilbert and Gene Heard.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
