Michael "Budge" Meriage, 86, of Midland, died unexpectedly Sunday evening, April 9, 2006, in the emergency room of The Medical Center, Beaver. Born June 2, 1919, in Primrose, Pa., a son of the late Stanley and Mary Basara Meriage, he had been a resident of Midland for over 65 years. He retired after 30 years from Crucible Stainless & Alloy, Division of Colt Industries, Midland, in addition to working for Westinghouse Electric Corp., Vanport, for 12 years. Mr. Meriage was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during World War II in the Pacific Theater and was an active member of the St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, Midland. He also was a member of the Dr. Laza Kostich Choir and the former St. George Men's Chorus and was a former vice-president of the church board. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 64 years, Ann Jermanovich Meriage; a son, Larry and his wife, Lin Meriage, Westlake Village, Calif.; a daughter, Michele Ann Meriage and her husband, LeRoy Dennison, Tampa, Fla.; a brother, Paul Meriage, and a sister, Sally Schiff, both of McDonald, Pa.; four grandchildren, David and his wife, Terri Meriage; Tianna Meriage, Beth Ann Yurkovac, and Paul Michael Yurkovac, and three great-grandchildren, Alexis Williams and David and Brendan Meriage. Numerous nieces and nephews and many good friends also survive him. Preceding him in death besides his parents were three brothers and a sister.
