Jack Shepherd
Jack Shepherd died at his home four miles east of Brighton on Tuesday and was buried in the Brighton Cemetery Thursday afternoon. Rev. C. L. Walker of Batavia preached at the funeral sermon.
He was a well known character about Brighton where he has lived for many years. He was a man of rough exterior but withal had many good qualities. He was in his 78th year and an old settler and pensioned. His health had been bad for some time. He went before the pension board at its last meeting for an increase of pension but it was his last trip from home.
A widow and several children survive him.
