Mrs. Mary Shepherd died at her home in Brighton on Sunday last.
She was born in Clark Co., Indiana Oct. 3 1843. At the age of 18 she was married to John E. Marsh in Scott Co., Indiana. Of their four children only one is now living, Mrs. Hulda Lowe of Brighton. In 1870 Mr. Marsh died and two years later she was married to A. J. Shepherd who died in Brighton in 1902. Seven children were born to them all of whom are now living. They are John, Edward and Mrs. Nellie Hill, Mrs. Laura Haifley and Floyde of Brighton, and Clarence of Council Bluffs. She has lived in Brighton 30 years past.
She was a member of the Christian Church and the funeral services were conducted by Rev. C. L. Walker from the home at two o'clock Tuesday afternoon.
