MARION - Clara Lowery Hensley Hamrick, 83, of Marion, died Friday, Jan. 14, 2000, at Cannon Memorial Hospital in Linville.
Born Sept. 11, 1916 in McDowell County, he was a son (sic) of the late James "Roscoe" Lowery and Mary Elizabeth Hogan Lowery and husband of the late William Reid Hamrick. She was a retired textile worker. She also was preceded in death by a
granddaughter, Teresa Deaton.
Surviving are a son, Gordon A. Hensley Jr. of Marion; daughter, Helen Washburn of Marion; brother, John C. Lowery of Forest City; sisters, Ida Biddix and Ruth Lowdermilk, both of Marion, Jean McElroy of Jacksonville, Fla., and Melissa Jennings of Mt. Holly; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday in Westmoreland Funeral Home chapel. The burial will be in North Cove Baptist Church Cemetery.
