Mrs. Ruth Lowery Laudermilk, age 82, of Marion has "Gone to be with the Lord" on Friday, March 5, 2004.

Ruth was born in Mitchell County on February 11, 1922 and was the daughter of the late James Roscoe Lowery and Mary Liz Hogan Lowery.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Marion and a dedicated Christian. She worked in Food Service until she was 80 years old.

Her husband Robert "Con" Laudermilk, Sr., sisters Naomi Lowery McKinney, Sarah Jane Lowery, Clara Alice Hensley and Elizabeth "Lib" McKinney, brothers, J. R. and John C. Lowery preceded her in death.

Mrs. Laudermilk is survived by two children, Nancy L. Simmons and husband Dean of Hickory and Bobby Conley Laudermilk, Jr. and wife Brenda of Marion; three sisters, Ida Mae Biddix of Marion, Jean McElroy of Jacksonville, FL and Melissa Jennings of Mt. Holly, NC; four grandchildren, Alicia L. Sharp of Asheville, Robert Laudermilk of Marion, Jason Laudermilk of Marion and Jeffrey Simmons of Hickory and two great grandchildren, Lucus and Victoria.

Services will be held Monday, March 8, 2004 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Marion with Revs. Scott Hagaman, Terry Childers and Harold Webb officiating.

Interment will be in McDowell Memorial Park. Flowers are acceptable and appreciated.
