Born south of Russell, Mr. Landon's life has been much a part of Russell. He was a man who conscientiously observed the law of the Bible in his life of "Bury the dead, visit the fatherless and the widows in their afflication". Probably no other person in Russell, has been so faithful to this admonition as was Dean Landon. He was present at nearly every funeral and at the time of death or trails, a comforting message was brought to the afflicted by this kind man.
Dean S. Landon, 66, a pioneer citizen, died suddenly at his home at 441 W. 7th at 11:30 Tues. morning, following a four day illness. Feeling ill while in the western part of the state last week, Mr. Landon sought medical aid upon returning to Russell and Monday was down town in the doctor's office. A heart attack, Tuesday was given as the immediate cause of his death.
