John Kelly Edmondson Sr., 78 was a native of Savannah and was an Army veteran, having served in the 118th Field Artillery Battery E, of the Irish Jasper Greens stationed at Fort Jackson, S.C. in 1940. He then served in World War II, European Theater Operations - NATO, with the Army-Air Corps from 1941 until he was discharged at Fort Gordon in 1946. He retired from the former King's Appliances and Electronics, Inc., having served as Part's Division Manager from 1952 until 1987. He was a member of the Senior Citizens Golf Blitz at Bacon Park Golf Course and a member of BPO Elk's Lodge No. 183. He was known to his friends by his nickname "Ed". He was preceded in death by his father, John Jeffrey Edmondson of Tampa FL and sister Doris E. McKendree of Savannah GA. He was followed in death by his mother, Alva M. Edmondson of Savannah GA and Schertz, TX and sister Daisy Valera Edmondson Barbee of Universal City, TX a brother William Michael Edmondson of Florida. He loved family, life, golf and friends.

SURVIVORS: wife, Glynn T. Edmondson of Savannah; daughter, Maria Edmondson of Alpharetta; son, John (Kelly)Edmondson Jr. of Mechanicsville, VA.; three granddaughters, Britney N. Edmondson, Eleanor and Emily Gardner, and a grandson, Ryan K. Edmondson.
