Surviving are a son, Charles E. Barfield of Chicago; a daughter, Mrs. Frances Cutro of Columbia; three sisters, Mrs. Lois A. Perry, Mrs. Lula Hawkins and Mrs. Sue Maw, 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today in Olympia Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. W. Lloyd Hellams. Dunbar Funeral Home, Gervais Street Chapel, is in charge.

The 3 April 1930 Census did not report Joseph E., Jr., it did report a daughter named Mary 0/12 months. This may have been an enumerator error.
