Mrs. Sally G. Pickett
HILLSVILLE — Mrs. Sally Elizabeth Grimes Pickett, 73, of the Monarat section (Austinvllle post office), died in Pulaski General Hospital,
Monday, February 21, 1966.
She was born in Carroll County February 26, 1892, to Granville A. Grimes and wife, Mrs. Parthenia Fraizer Grimes. Surviving are three daughters, Miss Alva Pickett and Mrs. Sylvia Lawson, both at Austinville, and Mrs. Ina Alley, Woodlawn, five sons, Bascom Pickett, Carl Pickett and Maynard Pickett, all of Austinvllle, Malcolm Pickett,
Covington, and Basil Pickett, Brandywine, Md., and three brothers. Tommy Grimes and Robert Grimes, both of Woodlawn, and Johnny Grimes, Rural Retreat.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday,
February 24, at Pleasant View Church by the Rev. Donald Clay and the Rev. Henry Eldridge. Interment was In the Pickett Cemetery. The body was moved Wednesday from Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Funeral Home to the residence, where It rested until time for removal to be placed in the church one hour before the services.
