Death of Herbert H Bangs
Mr Hebert Harold Bangs died at his home in Chestnut Hill June 21st after a brief illness.He had been many years in business in Boston and was so far reduced in strength that he was unable to resist an attack of pneumonia.He had filled a large placed in the lives of his friends,who feel that he was called away when he was much needed.He had led a very exemplary life.He was born in Brewster May 7th 1849 and was the son of the late Capt Elisha and Sarah Bangs.He spent most of his early life in Brewster,later attending schools in West Newton,Dedham and Groton.In 1873 he married a daughter of the late Daniel Scudder of Barnstable who was his faithful companion to the last.He leaves,besides his widow,two sons a sister, in Florence Italy,to mourn their great loss.After a trip around Cape Horn for his health,he entered business in Boston,and was associated in the banking circle on State Street the greater part of his business career,being at the time of his death connected with the Boston Stock Exchange.He was admitted to the Beth-Horon Lodge of Masonry in Brookline, June 12,1883.
Funeral services were held at Chestnut Hill June 23rd,interment occurring June 24th in the family lot in Brewster.
