Peggy Annette Allbaugh of Blackwell, Oklahoma, passed peacefully from this life Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at Life Care Center in Wichita, Kansas, at the age of 80 years.

One of three children, Peggy was born May 31, 1931, to Henry Hudson (USA) & Mary Thelma (Bennett) Cummings of Garber, Oklahoma. She graduated from Blackwell High School in 1949 and married her high school sweetheart, Marvin Willard Allbaugh, two years later on July 21, 1951, in the First Baptist Church, Blackwell. They were a beloved couple for fifty-five years.

Peggy received her Bachelor's Degree from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva and served as a teacher in the Blackwell school system for over twenty-five years as an elementary and junior high home economics teacher. She was an enthusiastic supporter of her three sons' sports activities while also serving as the steady, right arm in running the family farming operation. She was an avid reader holding a wonderful love for travel. Peggy was truly admired, loved and highly respected by all members of her family and her friends. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a Ladies Bible Study Group.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Hudson Cummings (USMC) her husband, Marvin, and grandson Cpl. Jeremy Allbaugh (USMC).

Peggy is survived by her three sons, Joe M. Allbaugh and wife Diane of Oak Hill, Texas, Jon M. Allbaugh and wife Jenifer of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Jay H. Allbaugh of Wichita, Kansas; her sister, Marilyn Davis and husband Larry of Wichita, Kansas. She greatly enjoyed her family including seven grandchildren; David Birdwell, Norman, Oklahoma, Chase Allbaugh, Stillwater, Oklahoma, Taylor Allbaugh, Austin, Texas, Bryan Allbaugh, Lindsey, Oklahoma, Jason Allbaugh, Edmond, Oklahoma, Alicia Allbaugh, Tyler, Texas, and Lauryn Shabanowitz and husband Tim of Denver, Colorado; and many nieces and nephews.

Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 20th in the First Presbyterian Church in Blackwell with the Rev. Eric Dittman of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be grandsons and nephews; Chase Allbaugh, Jason Allbaugh, David Birdwell, Drew Davis, Dirk Davis, and Shawn Rexford.

A memorial has been established in her honor with the Blackwell Public Library in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
