Jon Martin Allbaugh


Jon Martin Allbaugh of Edmond, Oklahoma, died Tuesday afternoon, December 11, 2012, in the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City at the age of 58 years.

Jon Martin Allbaugh was born on September 27, 1954, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Marvin Willard and Peggy Annette (Cummings) Allbaugh.

He grew up in Blackwell attending Blackwell Public Schools and graduated from Blackwell High School in 1972. He furthered his education at Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa where he played basketball and baseball before transferring to Oklahoma State University in Stillwater.

Upon completion of his collegiate career he was drafted by the New York Yankees organization. He married Jenifer Payne on July 25, 1981. He worked in the oil field industry for Homoco and Acme Tools in Michigan before working for Weatherford in Corpus Christi and Houston, Texas.

He later began working as sales manager for Baker Tools in Oklahoma before transferring with the company to Tyler, Texas. He later returned to Oklahoma and began working as vice-president of operations for Complete Energy Services in Edmond.

He was an avid golfer and loved to ride his motorcycle. He also enjoyed watching basketball and baseball and was a huge Oklahoma State and New York Yankees fan.

He is survived by his wife of thirty-one years, Jenifer Allbaugh of Edmond, Oklahoma; two sons, Cpt. Jason Allbaugh of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Brian Allbaugh; a daughter, Alicia Allbaugh of Tyler, Texas; two brothers, Joe Allbaugh and wife Diane of Oak Hill, Texas, and Jay Allbaugh of Wichita, Kansas; three aunts, Kathryn Tweedy of Portland, Oregon, Linda Rexford of Ponca City and Marilyn Davis of Wichita, Kansas; and many cousins, nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Cpl. Jeremy Allbaugh.

Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 15th in the First Christian Church in Blackwell with the Rev. Bobby R. Hall of Christ Community Church in Enid, Oklahoma, officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Cpt. Jason Allbaugh, Joe Allbaugh, Jay Allbaugh, Bruce Jones, Jodi Holland, Randy Paige and Bruce Ruggs. Serving as honorary casketbearers will be Eddy and Alana Byrne, Zach Hammonds, Tim Deppner, Anthony Bumgarner, Stanley Kowlessar, Sean Hannon, Phillip Martinez, Jack Thomas, Mike Cholerton, Kip Scott and Pat Miller.

Memorial have been established in his honor with the Wounded Warrior Project and the American Heart Association in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
