Elizabeth was daughter of Georg Schoen and Helene F. Peter. She married David "Buck" M. Hanes on 24 December 1924 in Papineau (Iroquois County), Illinois. They had five children; Oral (Bob) Olson, David #93593582, Harold (Darline) #35661180, Marvin (Ellouise & Mary) #93594296 and Gerald (Carol). There is only a memorial stone for Elizabeth and her husband, Buck at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Her ashes are scattered over canyon on their son's property in Ignacio, Colorado, where there is also a memorial marker honoring them both.
