Jesse W. Burrier, 73, of Rt. 1, Amsterdam, a retired coal miner, died Monday in East Carroll Nursing Home, Rt. 1, Kensington, where he had been a patient for the past two years. Born June 13, 1898 in Loudon Township, a son of the late Frank and Alvanna (Beckley) Burrier, he was a member of the United Mine Workers of America Local No. 9544 and Simmons Ridge Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Bertha Moffat of Rt. 2, Bloomingdale and Mrs. Herschel (Irene) Greene of Rt. 1, Amsterdam; three sisters, Mrs. John Warner of Amsterdam, Mrs. Bert Warner of Canton and Mrs. Samuel Burrier of Germano; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie (Albaugh) Burrier October 25, 1966. Three brothers are also deceased. Services were held Wednesday in the Sweeney Funeral Home at Amsterdam with Rev. Ambert Sands officiating. Burial was in Kilgore Cemetery.
