Wm. M. Gandy Is Laid To Rest
HAZLEHURST - William Maeshac (Shac) Gandy 68, of Route a Hazlehurst died Monday at the Hardy Wilson Memorial Hospital, after a long illness.
Funeral rites were held at the Sardis Baptist Church, Tuesday 2 p.m. with interment in the Zion Hill cemetery, Hartman Funeral Directors were in charge.
Officiating was the Rev. J. W. Brister 0f Sardis Baptist Church, assisted by the Rev. Esteus Mason of Crystal Springs and the Rev. Purser Davis of Hazlehurst.
He is survived by his wife, three sons; Ernest Gandy of Hazlehurst, Alton Gandy of Pascagoula and Abiljiah Gandy of Jackson; five daughters. Mrs. Hardy West of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Mrs. Leo Aldridge of New Orleans, Mrs. Troy Wakefield of Hammond, Indiana, Mrs. W. N. Stein, of Sharonville, Ohio, and Mrs. Earl Corbin of Crystal Springs; three brothers, Clarence Gandy Jim Gandy, and Jesse Gandy, and four sisters, Mrs. Alfred Kyle of Jackson, Mrs. Charlie Jackson of Hazlehurst, Mrs. Thomas Grant of Hazlehurst and Miss Beele Gandy of Hazlehurst. He also is survived by 20 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
