Robert L. Lawless, Sr., 88, of Jacksonville passed away Friday afternoon, May 30, 2003 at Passavant Area Hospital In Jacksonville.

Mr. Lawless was born August 30, 1914 near Winchester the son of Michael and Nanny A. Howell Lawless.

Mr. Lawless married Edna Weder on September 27, 1936 at St.Marks Church in Winchester and she survives. He is also survived by 3 sons, 16 grandchildren, & 21 great-grandchildren and one sister of Jacksonville.

Mr. Lawless farmed his entire life in the Lynnville and Jacksonville areas, retiring in 1999. He was a member of the Church of Our Saviour and the Farm Bureau. Mr. Lawless enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, playing cards and fox hunting. He was also an avid baseball fan.

Mr. Lawless was preceded in death by one son, Robert L. Lawless, Jr.; 5 brothers, Dick Lawless, Tom Lawless, Ed Lawless, Dave Lawless and Gene Lawless and 3 sisters, Sister Michael Marie, Blanche Thomas and Gertrude Lawless in infancy.

Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2003 at the Church of Our Saviour with burial at St. Bartholomew Cemetery near Murrayville. Friends may call after 12 Noon on Monday at Williamson Funeral Home where the family will meet friends until 8 p.m. following a 4:45 prayer service.
