Sister Michael Marie Lawless died quickly and peacefully July 3, 1992. Sister was 88 years old and a member of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ for 48 years Named Catherine she was born on Nov 14 1903 in Winchester She was the second oldest child of Michael and Alice Howell Lawless She is survived by three of her eight brothers and sisters. After her profession Sister Michael Marie began her 31 years of service in three ASC hospitals as registrar and credit manager In 1956 she became a member of the American Association of Hospital Accountants She spent a total of five years at St Vincent Memorial Hospital Taylorville three years at St Clement Hospital Red Bud and 23 years at St Andrew St Joseph Hospital Murphysboro Besides her service in the hospitals Sister Michael Marie also did clerical work at St Teresa Academy East St Louis and at De Mattias Hall St Louis She returned to Ruma in 1982 for semi-retirement. Sisters remember Michael Marie as being very careful thorough and precise in her office work kind and compassionate with the patients and having a care and concern about her own personal appearance. A wake service was held Aug 3 and her funeral liturgy was celebrated Aug 4 with burial in the convent cemetery
