Annie Ethel Slusser was the daughter of James Madison Slusser (1853-1920)and Bettie Alice Curd (1855-1932), both of Botetourt County, Va.

She was an elementary school teacher and later school principal.

She married George Asbury Buhrman 15 Dec 1917. George Buhrman(1878-1944) was the son of William Henry Harrison Buhrman (1841-1900)and Josepha Backus Anderson (1847-1884), both of Botetourt County, Va.

They had three daughters: Mary Virginia, Doris Ethel, and Georgia Grey who were all born and raised on Valley View Farm- the Rev. Abraham Buhrman homestead in Eagle Rock, Va.

Ethel Buhrman worked as manager of Hodges Jewelry Store in Clifton Forge, Va. for many years before retiring.

She attended the United Methodist Church in Clifton Forge, Va.

She passed of cancer on Jan. 24, 1973 at the age of 86 years. She passed away at her home at 11:21 a.m. at 409 Keswick St.

Surviving were her three daughters Virginia Craft and husband Dennis of Roanoke, Va.; Doris Snyder and husband Duane of Ft. Myers Beach, Fl.; and Georgia Grey Buhrman of Clifton Forge, Va.; four granddaughters, and two great-grandsons.
