Giola Gibson Blankenship, 90, of OKC, passed away Dec. 3, 2007. She was born Aug. 24, 1917 in Lamar, CO to Loya and Claricy (Daniels) Gibson. Giola worked as a cafeteria manager at Rockwood Elem. School for over 33 years. She loved her job and all of the children. Giola enjoyed golfing, bowling and working in her yard, and she especially cherished the times spent with her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William Blankenship, 3 brothers and 1 sister and 3 grandsons. Survivors include her daughters, Gayle Martin and Glenn Doris Wood, both of OKC; sisters, Betty Arndt and husband Roy of IN, and Elsie Norris of FL; 3 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren. The family requests memorials to the American Heart Association. Services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, December 6, 2007 at Vondel Smith South Colonial Chapel.
