Mrs. DOROTHY E. KERVAN
The Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial was offered this morning at St. Francis de Sales Church for Mrs. Dorothy E. Kervan, 73, of 228 Safford St., Bennington, who died Friday at Putnam Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
A prayer service at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home preceded the funeral Mass. Burial followed in the family lot, Park Lawn Cemetery, Bennington.
Mrs. Kervan, a native and lifelong resident of Bennington, was born March 22, 1902 to David and Marion (Wright) Wright, received her education in the local schools and was married to Francis V. Kervan at St. Francis de Sales Church. He died in 1958.
She was employed for more than 30 years at the Bradford Mill and was a retired employee of Tansitor Electronics. She was a communicant of St. Francis de Sales Church and belonged to the Altar Rosary Society of that church.
She leaves a son, Francis T. of Milford, Conn.; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Christine Wright of Bennington and Margaret Bisset of Troy, N.Y.; a brother, Grover L. Wright of Landgrove; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a son, Donald E. in 1972.
Memorial contributions to the Bennington Rescue Squad have been suggested by the family.
