Joseph I. Wulff
1878 – 1962

Joseph Ingval Wulff was born in the town of Dover on November 2, 1878, to parents Jacob Wulff and Martha (Hovey) Wulff, and passed away on December 26, 1962.
He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith by Pastor F.A. Moller.
He moved to Mondovi in 1902 and started blacksmithing.
In 1905 he married Carrie Odegard of Thompson Valley. To this union were born three children – Kenneth (who preceded him in death on May 20, 1944), Martin, and Eleonore (Mrs. Myron Eide), both of the town of Naples.
In 1920 he sold his blacksmith shop and in 1921 he moved with his family onto his farm in the town of Naples. Here he lived until 1943, when he and his wife moved back to Mondovi. He had a shop in town where he continued to do some blacksmithng and toolmaking.
He was a member of the Central Lutheran Church from the time it was started until his death.
He is survived by his wife, one daughter and one son, fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren, one brother, Sever, of Mondovi, and four sisters, Anna Lee of Menomonie, Lena Johnson of Forest City, Iowa, Ida Olson of Spokane, Washington, and Johanna Wulff of Mondovi.
Funeral services were held at the Central Lutheran Church on Saturday, December 29, with Pastor Harold Haugland officiating. The organist was Inez Weiss and the singers were Mrs. Harold Haugland and Carol Litchfield. He was laid to rest in the Riverside Lutheran Cemetery. Casket bearers were Sanford Wulff of Edgerton, Bruce Wulff of Madison, Joseph E. Wulff of Eau Claire, Roger Leonard of Brill, Robert Wulff and Maurice Eide of Mondovi.
