Death came to Mrs. Gomer Thomas, 18 at the Commerce Hospital on Sunday following a serious operation. She was ill only five days.
Mrs. Thomas was born in Franklin County, the former Miss Doris Eloyce Pritchett. She lived a faithful Christian life, being a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church. She leaves a large circle of friends and relatives to mourn her untimely passing.
Funeral services were held at Pleasant Hill Bapt. Church near Lavonia, Saturday, September 27, with Revs. Plumer Wilmot and Bethel Smith officiating. A large crowd attended the funeral.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by 4 sisters, Mrs. Lindsey (Mary Lou) Barnes of Ashland; Annie Rae, Willie Ruth and Edna Pritchett, all of Carnesville; brother, George Pritchett of Carnesville. Father & mother John Thomas Pritchett and Reba Pritchett of Carnesville.
The bereaved family has the sympathy of hundreds of friends in the sad passing of this young woman.
