James Henry Carraway, 41, of 28 Fairground Ave., died Thursday at his home.

Born in Baltimore, he was the son of the late James Brown and Mary (Larrimore) Carraway Bell Howard.

He was employed with the Maryland Correctional Institute as a correctional officer.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving with the U. S. Air Force. He was a member of the American Legion Morris Frock Post No. 42, V.F.W. Post No. 1936, Loyal of Moose Lodge No. 212 and Eagles Aries Lodge No. 694.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Carraway; one daughter, Joanne Lynn Carraway at home; one son, James David Carraway at home; and three sisters, Carol Ann Carraway, Patricia Lee (Bell) Roy, and Deborah Lynn (Bell) Merritt, all of Glen Burnie, Md.

Services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. The Rev. G. Bartow Harris will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9 p.m.

Memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
