Frank A. Noftsinger, age 83 of Roanoke, died in a Roanoke hospital Saturday afternoon. He was a active and long standing member of Calvary Baptist Church where he was a deacon and a Sunday School teacher. He was retired from the Norfolk & Western Railway and a veteran of World War II. He was a well known local photographer and gardener being a former member of the Salem Camera Club, the Mens Garden Club and the Blue Ridge Wildlife Society. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lola Farmer Noftsinger, Roanoke; one sister, Mrs. Lillian Reid, Salem; stepson and wife, Frank A. Farmer, Jr. and Lois Nazzaro Farmer, Fincastle; stepdaughter and husband, Betty Farmer Baird and David Lee Baird, Fincastle; four stepgrandchildren, three stepgreat-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel 1:30 p.m. Monday by Dr. C. Steven Teague and Dr. Harry Y. Gamble. Burial will be in Evergreen Burial Park. The family suggests memorial gifts be made to Calvary Baptist Church or a favorite charity. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday.
