Anthony Hoftiezer, 86, of 919 Wisconsin Ave., died at his home on Thursday, Feb. 17, 1994.

Born June 8, 1907 in the Town of Sherman, he was a son of the late Henry and Nellie Smies Hoftiezer.

On Oct. 11, 1929, he married Grace Pietpole, in Gibbsville. She preceded him in death on Jan. 31, 1973.

On April 6, 1974, he married Ovilla (Miller) (should be spelled Mueller) Wachter at Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, Sheboygan.

Anthony and Ovilla were caretakers at the home of William Hayssen for seven years. He was previously employed at Mercury Marine Co. in Cedarburg for nine years, retiring in 1972. He was a member of Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer.

He is survived by his wife Ovilla; a son, Herbert (Jean), Hingham; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two step-children, Mary Ann (Ronald) Hummitzsch, Kohler; and William (Roedell) Wachter, Sheboygan and four step-children. He was also preceded in death by six brothers and a sister.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 21, at Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 3027 Kohler Memorial Drive. The Rev. H. William Jordan, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in Hingham Cemetery.

Friends may call at the CHURCH, on Monday, from noon until the time of services.

A memorial fund has been established in Mr. Hoftiezer's name.

There will be no visitation at Lippert Funeral Home which is serving the family.
