Mrs. Mattie Simmons Reeves Inman, 100, of Mt. Airy passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Northern Hospital of Surry County.

She was born in Surry County on December 16, 1914 to the late Richard and Iris Lee Midkiff Simmons.

Mrs. Inman was retired from Mackie Vending Company as hostess at Pine State Knitwear, and she was also employed by Renfro Hosiery and the Oxford Orphanage.

Mrs. Inman was a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Inman was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Inman; her first husband, John William Reeves; a great-grandson, Matthew Jackson; four sisters, Velma Hiatt, Edna Parker, Rosie Shelton, and Lilly Simmons; seven brothers, Ed, Joe, Frank, Charlie, Walter, Bob, and Sam Simmons.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 7, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Flat Rock Baptist Church with the Rev. Jon Cawley officiating. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends Sunday at the church from 2:00 PM until time of the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Jim and Gayle Reeves Scholarship Fund at Surry Community College, 630 S. Main St., Dobson, NC 27017.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the Skilled Nursing Staff of Northern Hospital of Surry County and to Dr. Roger Kerley for the long time care given to Mrs. Inman.
