She was retired from Renfro Corporation and was the oldest living member of Flat Rock Baptist Church. Mrs. Hiatt loved life and her family. She was very innovative for her age and had lived in her own home until the time of her death.
She is survived by two daughters, Pat Hiatt Tesh of Clemmons, NC, Sylvia Lichvar Mayer of Mt. Airy; a daughter-in-law, Betty S. Hiatt of Mt. Airy; grandchildren and spouses, Richard and Donna Lichvar of Sterling, VA, Joel and Paulette Lichvar of Mt. Airy, John and Sandra Lichvar of Mt. Airy, Larry and Amanda Lichvar of Mt. Airy, Donna and Jack Childress of Greenwood, SC, Kathy and Richard Beckham of Winston Salem, Stewart and Alicia Hiatt of Mt. Airy, Paige H. Horton of Mt. Airy, Pamela Tesh and DeLacy Luke of Greensboro, GA, Stephen and Cindy Tesh of Clemmons, NC; sixteen great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Mattie Reeves Inman of Mt. Airy.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hiatt was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Everett Hiatt; son, Donald "Jake" Hiatt; sons-in-law, Andrew Lichvar, William Mayer, Roy D. Tesh, Jr; and ten brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy by Rev. Todd Byrd and Dr. Joe Maye with burial to follow at Skyline Memory Garden. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home.
